catching up

Things have been busy the last few weeks here. & a lot has changed.

I "graduated" in December with my Associates of Applied Science in Interior Design & a Certificate of Completion in Interior Merchandising. Sounds super fancy, I know. I am preparing for my Fall semester at the lovely Northern Arizona University. Of course, I will be never have to step foot in Flagstaff (thank God). I am not a wilderness person.

I am still taking classes. What I call resume builders (Revit, how to start your own design business, hand & digital rendering, and a graphic design class). My graphic design class has been my favorite so far & I keep telling myself it is to late to change my major. So for now, Photoshop & Graphic art will be my passion. Along with all my other passions (knitting, digital scrapbooking, yoga, baking) that I don't have much time for. Lets just say I am looking forward to summer & having time to achieve some of my goals.

Secondly, I traded in my barista job at Nordstrom for a lovely job at the Arizona Design Center. So I am doing office work in a showroom as a "part time" assistant. However, this "part time" job I caught myself has been working 3-4 days a week instead of the 2 days a week I was planning on. But I love being in the field & working with people I know (I was an intern there). I have been exhausted the last few weeks. Working from 9-4 then straight to classes from 4:30-7. But so far it has been really great.

Finally, I have decided to drop some weight and get back to what I like to call High School Skinny. Which means Sam & I have been eating health, small portions, trying to work out on a daily basis. & doing weekly GeoCaching to get us out of the house & active. He even let me take him to a Vegan restaurant for lunch last week! Poor thing.

As for Sam, he has been super supportive about my crazy schedule & new goals of a healthier lifestyle. He celebrated his 22nd birthday on the 6th & was very excited for his new bicycle. His current full time job has been talking me off the ledge. & he is really great at it. He has been working for his parents' trying to finish up their backyard oasis. & soon will be employed by Poppy to redo my parents' front yard patio. He has been a busy boy & I think in a few months will be ready to get back into school. I can tell because he keeps bring be books on design & advertising.

I am hoping he will write a little message on here soon.
That's all for now.
